The Island in Pigeon Forge
LOCATION
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
PROJECT OVERVIEW

- Show Fountain
- Choreography & Lighting
The Island in Pigeon Forge is a 300,000-square-foot retail and entertainment complex in Tennessee. At its center is a multi-tiered show fountain that combines water and light choreographed to music. OTL designed and built the fountain to serve as the property’s signature attraction.
PROJECT
CHALLENGE
The Island’s developers wanted a showpiece fountain that would give the retail center a distinct identity. The design needed to layer multiple types of movement, from more than 89 vertical nozzles setting the pace to motion-based nozzles swirling to the music. A geyser nozzle shooting water 60 feet in the air added another layer of drama to coordinate.
OTL’S
SOLUTION
OTL’s design team built a fountain that captured the look, energy and vibrancy the developers wanted. The choreography weaves the vertical, motion-based and geyser nozzles into a synchronized water and light show set to 14 pieces of music. Between shows, the fountain shifts into a calmer mode, with 50 feet of water falling over a waterfall to create a quiet oasis.
The Island’s show fountain has become one of its most beloved attractions, drawing families to watch water and lights dance to music. Visitors regularly return to sit beside the fountain, making it central to the retail center’s identity.
