A wellness garden at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, California called on OTL to bring water into the heart of the healing process. OTL built 15 stainless steel basins and a sinuous reflecting pool, each engineered to soothe rather than simply decorate.
That water now anchors a quiet gathering place where patients, visitors and staff can recharge between the hardest parts of their day.

CHALLENGE
Hospital settings carry strict health and safety standards, and this one came with a clear rule: no water could spray into the air. OTL still needed to create a calming, meditative movement of water, one gentle enough for a healthcare setting yet sanitary enough to meet hospital-grade cleanliness.
Fifteen individual basins also had to feel cohesive, part of one healing landscape rather than a scattered collection of fixtures.
OTL’S
SOLUTION
OTL fabricated each basin from type 316L stainless steel, the same corrosion-resistant material used in surgical tools, keeping every surface sanitary and pristine for years to come.
A small bubbler nozzle in each basin creates a gentle ripple rather than a spray, delivering the sound and movement of water without violating hospital safety standards.
Individually controlled RGB lighting extends that calm into the evening, while a sinuous stainless steel reflecting pool ties the basins together beneath a shade structure.
This wellness garden now gives Cedars-Sinai’s patients, visitors and staff a place to pause amid some of life’s hardest moments. Water, long known to ease the mind and body, does exactly what it was designed to do here: help people heal.
