Parish Episcopal School’s Midway campus in Dallas is home to the Noble Family Performing Arts Center, designed by BOKA Powell. In front of the building, the school created a memorial garden honoring Mira Foshee, a student who died in 2019. OTL designed and built the garden’s centerpiece, an elegant architectural fountain anchoring Mira’s Spirit Garden.

CHALLENGE
School officials wanted the garden and fountain completed alongside the arts center so students who knew Mira could still enjoy it. That timeline pushed OTL to move quickly on a technically complex design: a 14-foot fountain built around two opposing Reuleaux triangles topped with a suspended sculpture.
OTL’S
SOLUTION
OTL coordinated with partners to keep both projects on schedule. The triangular basin, donated by McCarthy Building Company and capped in honed Carrara marble, holds a black concrete monolith: the sculpture The Butterfly Effect by artist Simeen Farhat. Its spherical upper face is textured with shallow ridges so water flows evenly, adding movement and sparkle.

IMPACT
The Mira Foshee Memorial Fountain now anchors Mira’s Spirit Garden, offering a beautiful tribute to a life that ended too soon. Alongside the new arts center, it gives students and all who knew Mira a lasting place to honor her.
