Nu Skin Enterprises invested more than $100 million expanding its research and office campus with a new Innovation Center, anchored by a four-story atrium of glass and aluminum. OTL built several architectural fountains throughout the campus, engineered to echo the smooth, innovative aesthetic of Nu Skin’s own product line.

CHALLENGE
The lobby’s centerpiece fountain needed an ultra-clean, seamless look that matched Nu Skin’s brand identity, with 26 tons of Virginia Mist Stone requiring minimal visible joints. Every water effect also had to avoid splashing onto adjacent surfaces within the polished corporate lobby.
OTL’S
SOLUTION
OTL worked closely with the project architects to minimize stone joints across the fountain’s surface, then tested textures and programming extensively so water flowing over the edge disappears cleanly into a narrow floor slot. Outdoor features followed the same standard, including serpentine white granite runnels for seating and a large reflecting pool crossed by stepping stones, its animated arching jets accented by a hidden glass paver that lets shimmering light reach the office space below.

The completed Innovation Center has earned the IDEAS1 National Award and an ENR Best Projects Award, giving Nu Skin a headquarters as polished and forward-thinking as the products it makes.
