Stakeholders envisioned Downtown Summerlin as more than a shopping center: a true downtown core for Las Vegas, built around four water features across its 1.6-million-square-foot footprint. OTL constructed each one, from RGB-lit pop jets near Macy’s to a bronze sculpture wrapped in cascading water at the main entrance.

CHALLENGE
Ownership wanted a gathering place calm enough to offer respite yet varied enough to hold its own amid the surrounding energy, without letting any one water feature overwhelm the retail around it.
OTL’S
SOLUTION
Near Macy’s, 32 pop jets rise from a circular basin of black granite, lit in RGB and capable of shooting water six feet into the air. Near Dillard’s, a round basin crowned by a sculptured bronze dome releases synchronized mist to cool shoppers throughout the day. At the main passageway, a water wall follows trails of glass from Nathan Allan Glass Studios, while the centerpiece sends twisting water down a 35-foot bronze sculpture by SWA Architects, fabricated by Metal Arts Foundry, into a 100-foot reflecting pool of Utah sandstone.
