Design/Construction Company Promotes Tom Real to VP of Project Management
NEWPORT BEACH, California – July 10, 2012 – Outside the Lines (OTL), a California-based design and themed construction company, has promoted Tom Real to vice president of project management. In his new position, Real will manage large, complex and high profile projects and oversee OTL’s project managers.
One of Real’s key tasks will be to pass along his technical knowledge and train OTL’s project managers in the art and science of managing projects in a way that exceeds clients’ expectations and promotes the core values of the company. Tom will also be responsible for recruiting new, talented project managers.
“Tom is not only one of the very best project managers I have ever met, he is also an incredibly competent engineer who thoroughly understands the technical aspects of what we do and is able to apply his knowledge in a very practical way,” says OTL CEO J. Wickham Zimmerman. “It is not often you meet an engineer who is technically competent and can relay highly complex topics in a way that a lay person can understand.
“Tom also shares the same ideals the company was founded upon – providing our clients with the very highest quality projects with uncompromising integrity,” Zimmerman said.
During his 30 years in the specialty construction industry, Real has traveled the world overseeing the construction of rockwork and water features at numerous high-profile projects. Most recently, he oversaw the design, construction and choreography of the elaborate show fountain at Station Park in Farmington, Utah for OTL.
OTL President Hugh F. Hughes says, “Tom has been a driving force in the success of Outside the Lines. He is a tremendous asset to our team and is very deserving of this promotion.”
