OTL constructs show fountain at ultra-luxury resort in San Diego.

San Diego is soon to be home to an 18-acre ultra-luxury waterfront resort and spiritual sanctuary curated by world-renowned evangelist and President of Morris Cerullo World Evangelism, Dr. Morris Cerullo.

The $160 million-dollar Legacy International Center is just two miles from San Diego’s most iconic beaches, and is planned to feature an immersive environment including a full spa, multi-functional conference center and biblically-themed exhibits as well as a ministry training facility, an interactive globe, a 4-D history theater, and other attractions to increase tourism in the vicinity.

In addition, a state-of-the-art show fountain is being built for the new luxury destination.

Outside the Lines (OTL)worked with project architect Carrier Johnson + Culture and project water feature designer Aquatic Design Group to bring the show fountain to life.

One of Dr. Cerullo’s primary requests was to deliver vertical height in the fountain, resulting in beautifully choreographed water reaching for the heavens.

The challenge, however, was a relatively small available footprint for the fountain, which is being constructed on an elevated embankment that is subject to high winds from both the coast and the desert.

To maximize height while minimizing splash, OTL positioned the vertical displays toward the center of the feature and incorporated decorative and wind-friendly fan nozzles toward the outside. Additionally, the team has added infrastructure providing the owner with the ability to add additional anemometers to the system if wind trends change and added protection is needed.

Music is a key element for any show fountain, and Legacy International will dance to something special; the fountain features an original musical score – the artistic creation of a composer, conductor and orchestra who were commissioned for this unique project. Combined with OTL’s state-of-the-art programming, the result is an exhilarating experience of melody, light, and choreography that moves the soul and the spirit.

Legacy Center International is planned to serve as a sanctuary that combines luxury resort amenities with a multi-cultural learning and spiritual center where guests can explore and discover more about the major religions of the world.

The project is currently under construction and is expected to be complete in mid-to-late 2019. The resort is located at 875 Hotel Circle South in San Diego, California.
