Young Living’s global headquarters in Lehi, Utah brings the essential oils company’s connection to nature into its architecture. OTL designed and built a rockface cliff and waterfall flowing into the building’s main atrium to greet guests and employees. OTL also worked with partner firms to build a reflecting pool and exterior fountain.

CHALLENGE
The rockwork cliff needed to feel geologically believable while functioning as a three-story structural element. The structural engineer required expansion joints at each level, risking joints that looked artificial. The exterior fountain needed to embody Young Living’s brand identity through its shape, colors and choreography.
OTL’S
SOLUTION
OTL engineered zig-zagged expansion joints that read as natural fissures rather than structural seams, preserving the cliff’s believability. The team shaped the water to begin as a trickle at the pinnacle before cascading into larger waterfalls, evoking eroded caves. In front of the building, OTL built a reflecting pool shaped like the company’s logo alongside a fountain choreographed in its corporate colors.
Young Living’s headquarters is now a key landmark for Lehi, Utah, offering relief from the region’s dry desert climate. The rockwork, waterfalls and fountains greet employees and visitors daily, reinforcing the company’s message of comfort, healing and respite.
