Dazzling Fountain will take Center Stage during the Holiday Shopping Season
Outside the Lines (OTL), a national leader in the design and construction of one-of-a-kind water features, rockwork and themed environments, has begun construction of a 12,000-square-foot show fountain for The Island in Pigeon Forge, Pigeon Forge, Tenn. The fountain will be a signature gathering and entertainment venue for Phase II of the 22-acre, 300,000-square-foot mixed-use retail and entertainment development, which also includes the 200-foot-tall Great Smokey Mountain Wheel.
“We have developed significant capabilities in show fountain design and construction, and the fountain at The Island in Pigeon Forge allows us to utilize all our expertise on one spectacular project,” says Hugh F. Hughes, OTL president. “We are very proud to be working on a project of this magnitude and quality.”
“We are honored to make our Tennessee debut on this great project,” says J. Wickham Zimmerman, CEO for OTL. “We look forward to delivering an exceptional project the residents and visitors of Tennessee will enjoy for years to come.”
The state-of-the art, multi-tiered fountain will be a stunning presentation of water dance and light, all perfectly choreographed to 14 pieces of music. While more than 89 vertical nozzles create lively movement and set the show’s pace, six motion-based nozzles create graceful water sprays that swirl to the music. Seemingly competing for attention, geyser nozzles shoot powerful bursts of water 60 feet in the air, creating drama and flair. At rest, the organically shaped fountain will feature 50 feet of water gently falling over a two-foot high water break, creating a relaxing respite for shoppers and guests.
The design-build fountain is expected to be complete in December in time for the holiday shopping season.
