Getting to Know OTL’s Senior Project Engineer Oscar E. Guereca, Jr.

Since 2020, in our newsletter and throughout our social media platforms, we have been spotlighting team members who are key to the success of our company.   

While OTL is known throughout the USA and internationally for designing and building magnificent water features, rockwork and themed environments, our company’s true foundation is our people. OTL simply would not be the same without our incredibly talented, dedicated, and caring team.  

This month’s Team Spotlight is devoted to our Senior Project Engineer Oscar E. Guereca, Jr. Oscar came on board in November 2023 and has been an outstanding addition to OTL’s engineering team. Along with communicating between management and the field, Oscar has a long list of responsibilities, including assisting the project manager in contract administration, contract document control, document distribution to the field and/or subs, field logistics, material delivery coordination, procurement coordination, managing and coordinating subcontractors, assisting in value engineering, assisting in pricing and tracking change orders, writing/managing/logging RFIs, and other tasks as needed to complete project administration and operations. We are grateful to have him on our team! 

We chatted with Oscar about his experience so far at OTL and what he is looking forward to accomplishing with us. 

What attracted you to OTL? 

OTL and water features represented something new to learn about. I knew it would be a place where I could put more of my skills to use. 

 What is the best part about being on the OTL team? 

Both my team and management are very supportive of me and each other. The company is very accommodating when someone needs to take care of themselves or their family. 

 What is a fun fact about you that readers may not know? 

I enjoy physics and cosmology. As a part of this, I like to take advantage of clear nights to take photos of stars and the night sky (astrophotography). 

What are you excited about accomplishing with OTL? 

I like to accomplish noteworthy projects – those that require special attention and involve out-of-the-box thinking to solve a problem.
