Getting to Know OTL’s Project Purchaser Adam Grumbles
Posted in Insights -
Since 2020, in our newsletter and throughout our social media platforms, we have been spotlighting team members who are key to the success of our company.
While OTL is known throughout the USA and internationally for designing and building magnificent water features, rockwork and themed environments, our company’s true foundation is our people. OTL simply would not be the same without our incredibly talented, dedicated, and caring team.
This month’s Team Spotlight is devoted to our project purchaser Adam Grumbles. Adam joined the company in 2020 after several years of working in the water feature construction industry. He originally served as our field technical services manager before moving on to project purchaser. Adam now organizes the acquisition of goods and services for OTL projects and has provided technical services as well as applied his proficiency in electrical work, plumbing, and many other areas. He is central to our team, and we are fortunate to have him on board.
We spoke with Adam about the highlights of his job and a fun fact about him that many people might not know.
Favorite project since joining OTL: Aquarium at the Boardwalk in Branson, Missouri. This was the last project I would physically be onsite to build before switching roles. Although I enjoyed being on the road and creating water features all over the world for over a decade, I was happy to transition to an office position. With this project, despite the harsh weather, our team created another amazing show fountain that will be entertaining visitors for years to come.
Greatest accomplishment at OTL: My greatest accomplishment at OTL has been taking on the role of project purchaser and utilizing all those years of field experience to ensure OTL’s projects are built to the highest standards with the best components and materials available.
The best part about being on the OTL team: Our team is more like a family. We communicate constantly and take care of each other. Everyone on the team has Wick’s full support and willingness to provide us with any tool necessary to be successful.
A fun fact about Adam: I’m an accomplished artist in almost every medium, from fine arts, painting, and sculpture all the way to metal art, computer animation, and show programming. I’ve won the amateur division and placed fourth in the master division at Texas SandFest, a sand-sculpture contest.
What Adam looks forward to accomplishing with OTL: As OTL’s project purchaser, I have been working to establish fluid processes for how we procure project materials and expand coordination with field personnel. I’m thankful for the opportunity to leverage my own field experience to minimize challenges for our team on all future projects.
Stay tuned for Team Spotlights featuring more of OTL’s outstanding team members.
