Since 2020, in our newsletter and throughout our social media platforms, we have been spotlighting team members who are key to the success of our company.
While OTL is known throughout the USA and internationally for designing and building magnificent water features, rockwork and themed environments, our company’s true foundation is our people. OTL simply would not be the same without our incredibly talented, dedicated, and caring team.
This month’s Team Spotlight is devoted to Sarah Shores, who was recently promoted to Vice President Administration. A wonderful example of our growth-from-within culture, Sarah has been with OTL since 2014 and most recently served as Office Manager. She is an invaluable member of our team who is tremendously innovative and focused on what’s best for our people and our amazing clients.
We spoke with Sarah about what it’s like to work at OTL and her goals and aspirations for the future.
Coming from the perspective of someone who has been working at OTL for several years, how would you characterize the company?
OTL can best be characterized as work hard, play hard. We strive to create the perfect balance between a creatively fun and productive atmosphere. OTL empowers our employees by keeping up in today’s quickly changing world. We pride ourselves on the importance of providing our employees with extra learning and development, the most up-to-date technology, and the tools they need to succeed. Our employees are encouraged to share their ideas, allowing everyone in our organization to bring a unique perspective and contribute to our continued success.
What is your favorite part about working at OTL?
Undoubtedly, I love what we do and the people I work with. The most inspiring thing about working for OTL is seeing a project at its completion, recognizing the impact it has on the community, and celebrating the hard work delivered by our OTL field team. No matter how many project openings I attend the best part is seeing the smiling faces of the people that our work has touched and knowing that it will continue to bring joy to the community for years to come.
What are your future goals and aspirations?
My goals are to continue to be a humble leader in this organization, to motivate and encourage our team to be their best, not only professionally but also personally. I will continue to embrace positive leadership and lead by example, knowing that I have the ability to shape a culture that encourages our employees to thrive.
Stay tuned for Team Spotlights featuring more of OTL’s outstanding team members.
