Jerry West
Jerry West knows that even the most ambitious vision ultimately comes down to people: the teams in the field responsible for turning ideas, engineering, and plans into something real.
With more than 20 years of experience in water features and specialty construction, Jerry has spent his career close to the work itself. He understands the realities of executing complex projects where conditions change, details matter, and answers are not always found on the drawings. That experience has shaped a leadership style grounded in preparation, accountability, communication, and practical problem-solving.
As OTL’s Director of Field Operations, Jerry leads the teams responsible for bringing the company’s work to life in the field. He works closely with preconstruction and project management to connect what has been envisioned and planned with what must actually happen during construction, making sure teams have the information, resources, leadership, and support they need to execute challenging work successfully.
Just as important to Jerry is developing the people behind the work. He believes strong field teams are built through clear expectations, ownership, trust, and leaders who are willing to teach as well as hold people accountable. For Jerry, craftsmanship and team development go hand in hand; building exceptional projects requires continually building the capabilities of the people responsible for them.
When he is not on a jobsite, Jerry is likely at a sporting event with his kids. Being present for the things that matter to them is one of his greatest priorities, and much of his time outside of work is spent supporting them from the sidelines.
Jerry believes successful field leadership means creating a team that understands not only what it is building, but why it matters, and giving people the tools, confidence, and accountability to take pride in the result.
