Chip Beyt believes the strongest projects begin with strong relationships and that bringing the right people together early can fundamentally change what a project becomes.
A licensed landscape architect, Chip brings a designer’s perspective to OTL’s approach to strategic partnerships. His background gives him an understanding of both the creative process and the collaboration required to move an idea from early vision to built experience. Throughout his career, he has been drawn to the people behind great places and to understanding not only what they want to create, but why it matters.
Leading Strategic Partnerships for OTL, Chip builds relationships with designers, developers, builders, and other partners creating destination-defining environments. His focus is on bringing OTL into the conversation early, when the company’s integrated expertise in design, engineering, technology, construction, and long-term operations can help strengthen an idea while it is still taking shape. For Chip, those early conversations are less about selling a solution and more about listening, understanding the vision, and finding where OTL can genuinely add value.
Chip studied landscape architecture at Louisiana State University, where his education helped shape his appreciation for the ability of thoughtfully designed places to influence how people feel, connect, and experience their surroundings. His own lifelong connection to water, from growing up around the bayous of South Louisiana to surfing and other time spent on the water, has given him a personal appreciation for the environments OTL creates.
Outside of work, Chip’s time is centered around family, music, and golf. He enjoys the relationships and experiences that come with each, whether spending time with his family, discovering or sharing music, or getting out on the golf course.
For Chip, relationships have always come before transactions. He believes great work happens when talented people trust one another, share ideas openly, and come together around something worth creating. His philosophy is perhaps best captured in the simple way he has always approached connecting people: “Cool person, meet cool person.”
