The Outlets at Orange is an open-air shopping and entertainment center in Orange, California, with retail, dining, a skatepark, movie theater and spa. Just outside Bloomingdale’s Outlet, OTL designed and built a raised, infinity-edge reflecting pool clad in black granite. The elliptical fountain wraps around a specimen palm tree, giving shoppers a striking focal point.

CHALLENGE
The open-air property needed a water feature that could hold its own against Southern California’s sunshine and varied retail architecture. An infinity-edge pool demanded precise construction to create a seamless water line along its curved black granite edge, while integrating an existing specimen palm tree into the design.
OTL’S
SOLUTION
OTL built the pool’s infinity edge in black granite, achieving a clean, uninterrupted water line around its curved form. The team constructed the fountain directly around the palm tree, weaving it naturally into the water feature rather than working around it. The finished pool now anchors the plaza outside Bloomingdale’s Outlet as a quiet counterpoint to the bustling center.
The infinity-edge pool has become a signature gathering spot, giving shoppers a place to pause amid their day of shopping and entertainment. Its clean, elegant design complements the center’s inviting atmosphere.
