Jack Larsen
Since joining OTL in 2007, Jack Larsen has helped shape the way the company approaches some of its most ambitious opportunities, bringing decades of experience and an ability to see what it will truly take to move a project from an idea on paper to exceptional built work.
Jack’s background spans architecture, estimating, project management, and specialty construction. Over the course of his career, he has estimated and managed more than 200 projects, developing the kind of judgment that comes from seeing complex work through many different lenses. He has an instinct for recognizing the details, risks, and opportunities that may not immediately be apparent on a set of plans while never losing sight of what the project is ultimately intended to become.
As OTL’s Vice President and Chief Estimator, Jack plays an important role in establishing the foundation for successful projects long before construction begins. He looks beyond quantities and pricing to understand design intent, scope, constructability, schedule, and execution. His experience helps connect creative ambition with the engineering and construction knowledge necessary to deliver it, allowing OTL to enter early conversations with a realistic understanding of both the possibilities and the challenges ahead.
Jack studied architecture at the University of Southern California and later returned to USC to oversee the construction of many of the university’s recognizable fountains. His architectural background continues to influence the way he approaches OTL’s work, giving him an appreciation for the creative intent behind a project as well as the discipline required to make it real.
Away from work, Jack values time with his family and the opportunity to travel. Whether experiencing somewhere new or simply enjoying time together, family remains an important part of his life, while travel continues to feed his natural curiosity about places, people, and the world around him.
For Jack, estimating has never been simply about arriving at the right number. It is about understanding a project deeply enough, early enough, to anticipate what others may not yet see and give an extraordinary idea its best opportunity to become exceptional built work.
