OTL’s Water Feature with Aquarius Interactive Technology Increases Dwell Time up to 200% at EpicCentral

Posted in Insights -

In 2024, OTL installed our proprietary interactive technology Aquarius Interactive™ at Illuvia, a spectacular show fountain we had previously constructed at EpicCentral, a 172-acre entertainment park in Grand Prairie, Texas. The technology is groundbreaking in that it allows visitors to control the fountains’ movement simply by moving their body, without wires or devices of any kind.

From a business perspective, the interactive fountain has affected EpicCentral financially in a positive way by increasing dwell time at the park by as much as 200%. According to Zane King, creative producer at EpicCentral, “[Illuvia] truly has impacted our economic development. It’s increased time on site to about 90 to 120 minutes, up from 60 minutes whenever we first opened.”

Increased dwell time is one of the most desired benefits of installing interactive fountains at retail/entertainment sites like EpicCentral—and there are many more benefits, including boosting community engagement, creating a sense of place, and simply delighting and entertaining guests in a whole new way.

Aquarius Interactive is so captivating that King tells us, “Outside of the food, Illuvia is the draw. People come to experience the fountain, to experience something they can’t see anywhere else in the world, really.”
